Serdobsk MCF No. 6 employee suspected of supplying convicted with phones and SIM-cards

Penza, 8 January 2014. PenzaNews. Inspector on duty of the residential area at the security department of medical and correctional facility No. 6, located in Serdobsk in the Penza region, a senior lieutenant of internal service was arrested on suspicion of organizing the supply of prohibited items to the territory of MCF for a cash reward.

“During the inspection of the employee’s personal car there were found and seized 18 mobile phones, 11 SIM-cards, 12 chargers and headsets intended for delivery to the restricted area for the needs of the convicts,” the press secretary of the regional management of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia Andrei Popkov told news agency “PenzaNews.”

He added that the complex of additional operational and search activities is currently held to document criminal activity of the inspector on duty.

“There is information about three cases of cell phones delivery for inmates of the MCF No. 6 by the staff in 2013,” he added.

Andrei Popkov said that the inspector on duty got from 1 thousand to 2 thousand rubles for each phone.

“He received money from the convicts with the help of mobile money transmission,” he said.

According to Andrei Popkov, the chief Russian Federal Penitentiary Service in the Penza region announced an agency check because of this fact.
