Report about bomb in cafe on federal highway near Penza was false

Penza, 8 January 2014. PenzaNews. Information about an explosive device in a roadside cafe located near the federal highway M5 “Ural” in Kuznetsk area, the Penza region, was not confirmed. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region reported this information to news agency PenzaNews on Wednesday afternoon, January 8.

“After a call registered in a single call center of a dispatching service, all emergency services were sent to the scene. Explosive devices were not found during the security check. Police arrested one of the cafe visitors – 36-year-old resident of Kuznetsk area is a state of extreme intoxication – on suspicion of false report on a terrorist act. According to the man, he wanted to test the vigilance of the police,” the ministry said.

The press service added that the initiation of criminal case is being considered under Art. 207 of the Criminal Code “Knowingly Making a False Communication about an Act of Terrorism.”
