2,5 kg of drugs seized during New Year’s holidays in Penza region

Penza, 10 January 2014. PenzaNews. Over 2,5 kg of drugs, including the banned substances of vegetable and synthetic origin, were seized by officers of Federal Drug Control Service of Russia in the Penza region during New Year’s holidays.
“Narcotics officers identified 60 crimes. 56 criminal cases were initiated against the persons involved in drug trafficking. 57 people with signs of intoxication were arrested in clubs and other entertainment establishments. To date, ten of them have positive medical examination results,” Chief Expert of Information and Public Relations Group of Federal Drug Control Service of the Russian Federation Elena Samorukova told news agency “PenzaNews.”
She added that a lot of attention was drawn to the work with anonymous appeals of citizens.
“Drug control hotline received 24 calls within 8 days of 2014. All information was subject to scrutiny,” the agency interlocutor said.
