Penza, 21 January 2014. PenzaNews. A woman’s corpse was found when eliminating the aftermath of a fire in a private dwelling house in Sokolka village, Serdobsky area, the Penza region.

As the press service of the main department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region told news agency “PenzaNews,” the fire alarm went off in the office on duty at 21.25 on Monday, January 20.

“By 21.42 the fire was extinguished. On Tuesday morning, January 21, we received information about a woman's body,” the ministry reported.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region, the victim was a 60-year-old owner of the house.

“The woman lived alone and abused alcohol. According to preliminary information, she suffocated from combustion products. The circumstances of the incident are under investigation,” the ministry explained.
