Penza, 21 January 2014. PenzaNews. A thief, who sneaked into a house in Gromova Street in Penza to steal valuables and decided to eat some of the products found in the fridge, was detained by the police at the crime scene.

As the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region told news agency “PenzaNews,” the man had previously been convicted.

“According to the suspect, he was going to visit a friend, however, when passing by one of the houses, he saw the padlock on the door, opened it with nail scissors and went inside. Not finding valuable things, he stole food from their fridge. Then the man proceeded to the room where he decided to take some rest and have a bite,” the agency interlocutor noted.

The press service explained that the police was called by some watchful neighbors — they noticed footprints in the snow from shoes of a large size and the unlocked door.

“The criminal case was instituted based on the incident. At present, the suspect is in custody. The police are investigating his involvement in other crimes,” the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Penza region reported.
