Penza, 23 January 2014. PenzaNews. Police officers arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of murdering a 49-year-old woman and her roommate, whose bodies were found in the ashes of a fire which occurred in a private house in Bekovo village in the Penza region, last Monday, January 20.

“It was established that during an argument the suspect beat the landlady, and then hit her several times with a fork. To hide the crime, he set a blanket on fire and left the house. As a result, the roommate of the victim, who was asleep at the time of the murder in the next room, choked and died,” the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs told news agency PenzaNews on Thursday, January 23.

The ministry reminded that earlier a criminal case had been instituted on the incident.
