Case of female elk murder sent to court in Penza region

Penza, 23 January 2014. PenzaNews. District prosecutor of Zemetchinsky area, the Penza region sent a criminal case of illegal hunting to court.
“It was established that on November 2, 2013 a man, born 1983, not having hunting license, used hunting dogs to track down a female elk and made at least two shots in it,” the senior assistant attorney of the Penza region Yuliya Makarova told news agency “PenzaNews.”
She explained that after having taxed the cost of damage, it appeared that the animal was worth 40 thousand rubles. When determining the amount of damage caused to the Ministry of Forestry, Hunting and Nature of the Penza region, they used coefficient “5” which raised the initial amount to 200 thousand rubles.
“Along with the case of illegal hunting, the prosecutor sent a claim for recovery of the stated amount in favor of the Ministry of Forestry from the defendant,” the agency interlocutor added.
