Penza resident accused of kidnapping after trying to force back his beloved

Penza, 24 January 2014. PenzaNews. A 23-year-old resident of Penza, trying to restore relations with his 20-year-old ex-girlfriend against her will, is accused of committing a crime under Part 1, Art. 126 of the Criminal Code “Kidnapping.”

“According to the investigation, in the evening of September 10, 2013 the accused arrived to the place of the victim’s work to try and persuade her to continue living together. He waited until the after-work hours and kidnapped her — forced her into his car, drove to his apartment, where illegally held for several hours. Later, the victim managed to call her relatives who reported the incident to the police. At night the girl managed to break free with the support of the police,” the Senior Assistant of the Head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Penza, Media relations, Lyudmila Fomina.

She added that the investigation collected sufficient evidence to send the criminal case to the court for consideration on the merits.

Part 1, Art. 126 of the Criminal Code provides for the punishment of imprisonment for up to 5 years.
