Penza, 30 January 2014. PenzaNews. Penza resident who tried to get a job on the advertisement he found on the Internet has become a victim of fraud.

“When the victim called the telephone number listed in the advertisement at Avito.ru, his interlocutor presented to be an employee of the city administration and appointed a meeting at the city administration. After some time, the stranger called back and asked to replenish the balance of the cellular phone number promising to return the money at the meeting. Follow the instructions of the fraudster, the man submitted 1,600 rubles to the subscriber’s number,” the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region told news agency “PenzaNews.”

The ministry added that after the applicant arrived for the interview, he tried to find the potential employer.

“However, the administration of Penza explained to him that the man he is referring to does not work there,” the press service said.

The department clarified that currently the fact of fraud is under investigation.

“It was established that the phone number to which the victim transferred the money is registered in the Rostov region,” the press service summed up.
