Penza, 3 February 2014. PenzaNews. Driver of “Mazda CX-7,” who, on February 9, 2013 caused the accident resulting in five dead people in the Penza region, was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment with the deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle for a period of three years.

“The court found that Penza resident, born 1985, had been deprived of the right to drive a vehicle prior to the accident, and was driving the car on the day of the accident in a state of intoxication. Violating traffic rules, he made a collision with oncoming car “VAZ-21102” and “KAMAZ.” As a result, the driver of “VAZ-21102” and four women who were in the passenger seats died,” the Senior Assistant Attorney of the Penza region Yuliya Makarova told news agency “PenzaNews.”

She noted that the accused admitted his guilt.

“The decision of the court has not entered into force and may be appealed within the statutory period,” the agency interlocutor added.
