Serdobsk, 7 February 2014. PenzaNews. Investigation of the criminal case against a 34-year-old senior lieutenant of internal service accused of three incidents of receiving bribes for illegal transfer of phones and SIM-card to convicts serving sentences in medical and correctional institution No. 6, completed in Serdobsk, the Penza region.

“According to the investigation, during the period from January to September 2013 the accused being the security inspector of the medical and correctional institution No. 6, used to bring mobile phones and SIM-cards on the territory of the correctional institution and passed them to the convicts, thus committing illegal actions, for which he received rewards in the form of money transactions to his mobile phone. The amount of bribes ranged from five to ten thousand rubles. The total amount received by the security inspector from relatives and friends of the convicts made 24 thousand rubles for 17 mobile phones and chargers to them,” the Senior Assistant of the Head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Penza, Media relations, Lyudmila Fomina told news agency “PenzaNews.”

She noted that the criminal actions of the accused were prevented by the employees of internal security of the Federal Service for Execution of Punishment of Russia in the Penza region Penza region and the regional department of the Investigating Committee.

“Sufficient evidence has been gathered upon the criminal case, so it has been sent to the court for consideration on the merits,” the agency interlocutor added.
