Penza, 10 February 2014. PenzaNews. A 20-year-old resident of Grabovo village, Bessonovsky area, the Penza region was detained on suspicion of committing a series of armed robberies in early 2014.

“The crimes occurred according to a similar scenario. During daytime, the attacker went to the offices of financial institutions issuing short-term loans and under the threat of objects similar to weapons, took the cash. Each time the attacker covered his face with a mask with the image of an animal. The most experienced detectives were involved in the case. In the end, the robber was arrested in a bar, where he was taking a break after another crime,” the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region told news agency PenzaNews on Monday, February 10.

The ministry noted that the suspect had no criminal record up to now.

“During a search at his residence the police found his weapon — a knife, as well as a monkey mask. A criminal case has been instituted. The suspect has been taken into custody,” the press service specified.
