Federal Service of Drug Control seized 60,5 kg of drugs in Penza region

Penza, 12 February 2014. PenzaNews. 60,5 kg of drugs were seized from illegal trafficking by the officers of the regional department of Russian Federal Drug Control Service in 2013.
“The amount of heroin seized this year remained relatively the same as in 2012, but the amount of desomorphine decreased by 92 times. This is primarily due to the introduction of prescriptions for medications containing codeine, which are the main ingredient of the drug,” the head of the regional department of Russian Federal Drug Control Service, Major General Yuri Denisov announced when summing up the results of the past year.
He added that last year they revealed 822 crimes related to illicit trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances, including 682 serious and very serious.
“During the reporting period we have blocked 33 channels of drugs in the Penza region including those from Moscow, the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Germany, Great Britain, Croatia, the Netherlands,” the press service of the regional department of Russian Federal Drug Control Service quoted Yuri Denisov.
