Penza, 24 February 2014. PenzaNews. The deputy of assembly of the representatives of Kolyshleysky area, the Penza region, who is also the head of a public company, was sentenced to two years of imprisonment for theft of gas on a large scale.

“It has been established that in order to reduce expenses of the enterprise, the man illegally cut into the central gas pipeline owned by LLC “GAZPROM MEZHREGIONGAZ PENZA.” As a result of illegal actions, gas arrived into the boiler room of the enterprise bypassing the gas-meter. Thus, he stole almost 125 thousand cubic meters of gas, whereby the owner lost over 600 thousand rubles,” the Senior Assistant of the Head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Penza, Media relations, Lyudmila Fomina.

She added that the convict was also fined in the amount of 50 thousand rubles.
