Penza teacher suspected of student harassment is under house arrest

Penza, 24 February 2014. PenzaNews. One of the teachers of versatile gymnasium No. 13 in Penza, who may be involved in the harassment of minor is under house arrest. This information was received by news agency PenzaNews on condition of anonymity by the source from the education field.

“He is staying at home under arrest, that is for sure. But I still cannot believe what he is suspected of. They say he molested, induced to committing obscene acts. How shameful this is for all Penza...As far as I know, the investigation is currently being held. But then, it should spread not only over the teacher, but the whole gymnasium. If this actually happened, then the director should be driven away from school. The Department of Education is hanging back, and then they will start messing around,” the agency interlocutor said on Monday, February 24.
According to him, he knows the teacher personally, and has known him for a long time, but never noticed any strange behavior and asked not to disclose his name just yet.
“I have never seen him drunk or behaving inappropriately, as they say. A normal guy, quiet, calm, nothing peculiar or weird,” the source added.
As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, on Friday, February 21, the Ministry of Education of the Penza region refused to comment the information on the teacher suspected of student harassment.
The director of versatile gymnasium No. 13 Elena Tymchenko is still unavailable for any comment.
The press service of the Investigative Committee of the Penza region also refuse to confirm or deny the information that caused public outcry.
However, by officially unconfirmed reports, the places of residence of the teacher and his close relatives were searched in order to detect objects or documents of any importance to clarify the situation.
According to recent reports, which have not been officially confirmed yet as well, the law enforcement officials have video footage to prove the guilt of the teacher, although there is no specification as to when it was made.
