A 40-year-old resident of Prigorodny village, Serdobsky area, the Penza region will appear before the court on charges of committing crimes under Part 1, Art. 109 of the Criminal Code “Causing death by negligence” and Art. 125 “Failure to give assistance to persons in mortal danger.”

“According to the investigation, on November 17, 2013 at around midnight the accused brought her 8-month-old son to unheated wooden veranda because the boy could not sleep inside due to heat. When the child was asleep, his mother left him in the stroller and went to bed in the living room,” the Senior Assistant of the Head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Penza, Media relations, Lyudmila Fomina told news agency “PenzaNews.”

She added that the child died as a result of general hypothermia caused by long presence in an unheated room during the cold season.
