Penza, 27 February 2014. PenzaNews. A 25-year-old resident of Penza detained attempting to transfer drugs to a penal colony for a convict, whom she met on the Internet.

“The young woman did not find out the fact that her virtual boyfriend was in prison right away. However, this had no impact on the attitude towards him because she was already in love. Then the convict asked his new friend for a favor. She was to take a bag of groceries from the convict’s friend, which had drugs hidden inside, and bring it to the point of reception of parcels in the penal colony,” the Chief Expert of Information and Public Relations Group of Federal Drug Control Service of the Russian Federation Elena Samorukova told news agency “PenzaNews.”

She added that the actions of the woman were prevented by the representatives of the two agencies — the Federal Drug Control Service and the Federal Penitentiary Service.

“Drugs have been sent for examination. The criminal case has not been instituted yet,” the agency interlocutor said.
