Culprit of major accident near Penza with five victims sentenced to 4,5 years in prison

Penza, 7 March 2014. PenzaNews. A man, born 1985, a citizen of Russia and Tajikistan, was sentenced to 4,5 years of imprisonment in a penal colony for creating an accident on federal highway M5 “Ural” in Nizhnelomovsky area, the near Penza region, which took leves of five people.

The court also deprived the man of the right to drive vehicles for the period of three years.
As the Senior Assistant Attorney region Yuliya Makarova told news agency “PenzaNews,” on July 31, 2013 the driver was on the way from Moscow to Penza in his personal “DAF” wagon with a trailer which had inoperable brakes.
“Driving down the slope, he lost control, and the vehicle made a skid. On the oncoming traffic lane the trailer collided with “Scania,” “VAZ-2115” and “Ford Mondeo.” As a result, the drivers of the all the three vehicles were killed on the spot, as well as two passenger in “VAZ-2115” and “Ford Mondeo,” the agency interlocutor clarified.
She added that the court ordered the guilty party to pay compensation for moral damages to the bereaved families.
As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, the collision of the wagon with the truck truck tore the former into two parts — the cab with the driver and passenger who eventually survived, flew off to the side. The trailer of the wagon was thrown into oncoming traffic, where it drove over two passenger cars of Serdobsky area — “VAZ-2115” and “Ford Mondeo,” the drivers of which were not able to react and avoid the collision, since everything happened very quickly.
One of the preliminary reasons of the tragic accident is wet road surface after the rain.
