Driver convicted in Nikolsk for biting police major preventing him eating drugs

Penza, 21 March 2014. PenzaNews. A 37-year-old resident of Nikolsk, the Penza region was found guilty of drug possession and use of violence against a government representative.
“The investigators found that the man was detained on November 7, 2013 during the daytime near a wholesale depot in Nikolsk. He had 0,309 grams of drugs, which is considered to be a large amount. To avoid penalties, the driver tried to destroy evidence by eating the narcotic substance stored in the glove compartment. At this point, a police major trying to stop the man grabbed his hand, and the convict bit the law enforcement officer at least two times on the fingers, thereby causing physical pain to the victim,” the Senior Assistant of the Head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Penza, Media relations, Lyudmila Fomina told news agency “PewnzaNews.”
She clarified that the court sentenced the man to 3,5 years of imprisonment suspended.
