Former inspector of traffic police to stand trial for 20-thousand-ruble bribe in Serdobsk

Penza, 2 April 2014. PenzaNews. Former inspector of traffic police in Serdobsky area, the Penza region will stand trial on charges of committing crimes under part 3, Art. 290 of the Criminal Code “Bribery.”

“According to the investigators, during the night on December 28-29, 2013 traffic police officers stopped a car of Serdobsk resident, who was driving while intoxicated and without proper documents. One of the police officers suggested the driver not filing an administrative report of the offense, providing for deprivation of driver's license, for a reward in the amount of 20 thousand rubles,” the Senior Assistant of the Head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Penza, Media relations, Lyudmila Fomina told news agency PenzaNews.”

She explained that the driver did not have the stated amount of money, but he promised to give it a little later.

“Afterwards, the inspector repeatedly demanded the money. He was detained by the officers of the regional department of the Investigative Committee after receiving the bribe in the amount of 20 thousand rubles,” the agency interlocutor explained.
