Penza, 4 April 2014. PenzaNews. Penza resident, born 1958, was found guilty of the murder of his own son and sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment in a penal colony.

The crime was committed in the evening on December 1, 2013.

“It was established that the father being drunk, was sleeping at home. He heard the son knocked on the door, but did not open it, because he thought the young man had the keys. In addition, he knew that his son also abused alcohol and would make a scene if let in,” the Senior Assistant Attorney of the Penza region Yuliya Makarova told news agency “PenzaNews.”

She added that at some point the son broke the door and began quarreling and hitting his father.

“Then the father took the kitchen knife and repeatedly stabbed his son in the chest striking the heart. The victim died of injuries on the spot,” the agency interlocutor explained.

Yuliya Makarova noted that after that, his father called the police and an ambulance.

“The investigation found that previously the accused repeatedly used a knife against his son — since they both abused alcohol, quarrels between men occurred frequently. The son used to hit his father, and the latter used to stab the son,” the Senior Assistant Attorney of the region said.
