Penza, 22 April 2014. PenzaNews. Police officers solved the case the theft of jewelry and a credit card from the check-room in the shopping center located in Suvorova Street in Penza, which took place while the owner went shopping.

It was the CCTV cameras that helped police detect the criminal.

“As a result, a 27-year-old woman, previously held criminally liable, was arrested on suspicion of committing the crime. According to her, she accidentally discovered that the key to the box in which she left her things fitted the nearby box. The suspect took advantage of this and stole the bag. Later she left the jewelry in a pawn shop, and retracted one thousand rubles from the account using the credit card. This became possible because the pin code was stored with the card,” the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Penza region told news agency “PenzaNews.”

The ministry added that a criminal case was filed on the incident.

“At the moment the suspect is in custody,” the press service noted.
