“The establishment already got into our books some time ago. When it was reported that the slot machine parlor resumed its activities, we checked this information, which turned out to be true. The entry to the building was allowed only to a limited group of frequent visitors, who used passwords they received from the illicit activity orchestrators to come inside,” told Press Center of Penza region department for Ministry of Internal to agency “PenzaNews.”

The department representative clarified that investigators carried out series of actions, which allowed to gain the entry password and infiltrate the illegal establishment.

“A few people, including the parlor workers and visitors, were inside the building at the time of entry. During the search, the police seized money, parlor managers’ reports on collected and distributed sums, and devices with CCTV records. More than 40 gambling machines were arrested as a result of the action,” the Press Center representative specified.

The orchestrators of illicit gambling activity received fines.

“We are investigating the possibility that the owners of the premises were involved in the illicit business. According to information available to the police, state and Penza region public authorities may be involved in the crime,” the department representative said.
