Penza, 21 May 2014. PenzaNews. A 26-year-old resident of Penza was arrested when trying to steal a company car “UAZ” parked near a hospital.

“According to him, he was walking by the hospital at night and saw a car. The door was open, and the keys were in the ignition. So he decided to drive it to his house,” the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region told news agency PenzaNews on Wednesday, May 21.

The ministry clarified that the man started the engine and tried to pull away, but due to lack of driving skills, he pulled the reverse gear instead of the low one.

“The car moved and hit the wall. By the time, the hospital staff ran out in the street and then caled the police,” the ministry added.

The press service explained that a criminal case was instituted based on the incident of an attempt of car stealing.

“In addition, an administrative offense report was filed on the fact of driving while intoxicated,” the ministry noted.
