“According to preliminary data, at about 23.50 on Monday, May 26, the driver of “VAZ-217030” rolled over in his vehicle. As a result, two people were injured. A man, born 1990, was hospitalized with blunt abdominal trauma, chest injury and a dislocated lefy collarbone. Another man, born 1988, was examined by doctors and sent home. He was diagnosed with contused wound of soft tissues of the head and face,” the group of propaganda of Traffic Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the region told news agency “PenzaNews.”
The traffic police clarified that it has not been established yet, who of the victims was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident.
“The circumstances of the accident are under investigation,” the department noted.
The night incident caused a lot of interest from passers-by and car owners, passing by the accident site. Many of them left their cars along the roadside and came up to watch closer. The traffic police had to ask the onlookers to step away from the damaged car and not to touch anything.
As noted by the residents of nearby houses, watching the police and the ambulance working at the site is reasonable since Prospekt Stroiteley Street turns into a “racetrack” at night — speed fans race there without worrying about other road users and pedestrians crossing the roadway at idle traffic lights at their own risk.
