Penza, 2 June 2014. PenzaNews. Former teacher of versatile school No. 13 in Penza, convicted of an offense under part 1, Art . 135 of the Criminal Code “Lecherous actions,” was sentenced to 1,5 years of imprisonment in a penal colony.

The case against the teacher was heard in private since the victim is a minor.

“It was established that one of Penza school teacher talked with a student of ninth grade about sex, offering to have sexual intercourse with him. The boy told his parents about this. For a long time he thought no one would believe him, because the teacher enjoyed great prestige and respect in the school,” the Senior Assistant Attorney of the region Yuliya Makarova told news agency “PenzaNews,” while stressing that the circumstances of the case cannot confirm or deny involvement of the teacher in what had happened.

She clarified that the sentence has not entered into force yet.

At the moment, Oktyabrsky district court of Penza also refused to comment on the case until the decision entered into force.

According to available information, the case was originally filed under Art. 133 of the Criminal Code “Coercion to a sexual acts,” but later changed to Art. 135 of the Criminal Code “Lecherous actions.”

The criminal case with the confirmation of the indictment was handed over to the court in mid-May. First information about the crime appeared in the media in February 2014, but official agencies refused to comment on it.
