Penza, 6 June 2014. PenzaNews. A resident of Penza, found guilty of patently false accusation of stealing of his car, was sentenced to compulsory labor for a period of 160 hours.

“It has been established that the man called the operational duty office and reported that the unknown stole his car “VAZ-2109,” which was parked near the house. Thereafter, an investigative team arrived at the place of the alleged crime. Then, at the police department No. 5, the man confirmed the information about the stolen car,” the official representative of Pervomaysky district court of Penza told news agency PenzaNews on Friday, June 6.

According to him, later it turned out that this information was not true.

“Subsequently, law enforcement officers found that the day before the crime the young man, being at home, drank alcohol. After that, he decided to go to a friend, but was stopped by traffic police, who filed an administrative offense report, and took the car to the car pound. Since the man did not want to upset his girlfriend, he called the police and made a patently false report of a crime,” the agency interlocutor said.

He added that at the hearing, the car owner agreed to the charges against him in full.

“The decision of the court has come into force,” the representative of the court noted.
