Pensioner from Penza deceived by fraudsters under guise of metropolitan officials

Penza, 16 June 2014. PenzaNews. A 72-year-old resident of Penza has become a victim of fraudsters, acting as the employees of the Economic Department of Moscow.
“According to the victim, in January this year she received a letter, which was notifying about compensation in the amount of 450 thousand rubles. It was noted that to receive the money, a commission should be paid. In addition, the letter contained reference phone numbers,” the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the region told news agency “PenzaNews.”
The ministry added that the elderly woman followed the instructions of the fraudsters, and in April she transferred 56 thousand rubles, but the promised compensation was never received.
“Currently, a criminal case on the incident has been instituted. Police are taking steps to identify those involved in the crime,” the press service said.
