Plenipotentiary Mogomed Iliev sentenced for attempted sale of government positions in Penza

Saratov, 24 June 2014. PenzaNews. Frunzensky district court of Saratov sentenced Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Ingushetia in the Volga Federal District Magomed Iliev, who was accused of attempting to commit fraud on a large scale, to 5,5 years of imprisonment in a penal colony.

The second person in the criminal case, businesswoman Maria Akhlupkina, was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months of imprisonment in a penal colony and was taken into custody in the courtroom.

As proved by the court the sentenced promised the victim Grigory Sh. to set him to the post of the deputy minister of agriculture of the Penza region, demanding 40 million rubles for this service.

On July 26 last year when the transfer of a part of the required amount of 15 million rubles was made, Akhlupkina and Iliev were detained by police.

The court also concluded that the convicts were not able to employ the victim and intended to deceive him, news agency “Versia-Saratov” reported.
