Penza, 1 July 2014. PenzaNews. Prosecutor's Office of Gorodishchensky district court of the Penza region supported the public prosecution in the criminal case against the chief of the village post office of Mordovsky Ishim — the court found him guilty of committing two offenses under part 3, Art. 159 of the Criminal Code “Fraud committed by person using official position.”

“It has been established that the head of the post office knew that a pensioner residing in the district under his supervision was missing. At the same time she was still pensionable. And he decided to steal this money,” the Senior Assistant Attorney of the region Yuliya Makarova told news agency “PenzaNews.”

The man made two false orders for delivery of pensions being at his workplace aiming to steal the funds belonging to the Pension Fund of Russia of Gorodishchensky area and payable to the pensioner reported missing in the amount of 14,506 rubles.

“He prepared fictitious documents to conceal the crimes and directed them to the Federal Post Management of the Penza region of Russian Post of Nikolsky post office as a record of delivery of pensions. The head of the post office appropriated the money intended for the pension of the missing resident of Mordovsky Ishim village and used at his discretion,” the agency interlocutor explained.

In accordance with the position of the public prosecutor the court sentenced him to two and a half years of imprisonment with a probation period of two years.
