Man attempted selling rented apartment for 2 mln. rubles

Penza, 17 July 2014. PenzaNews. A 30-year-old resident of the Orenburg region is suspected of fraud with a rented flat in Penza.

“A man came to police department #4 with a case of fraud. His friend-realtor picked an apartment for him. Together they examined the flat in the presence of a man who introduced himself as the owner and offered to sell it for 2 mln. rubles. Shortly the alleged owner contacted the buyer by phone and offered to seal the deal without the realtor. Later, the buyer gave the man 30 thousand rubles as a deposit and received the keys,” said the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region.

The ministry interlocutor added that when the buyer came to the apartment, an unknown woman opened the door.

“She said that she is the owner of this property and leased the flat for a day,” the press service representative said.

The department spokesperson clarified that a criminal case has been opened.

“It was established that the suspect had already faced criminal charges against him,” representative for the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia noted.
