Pervert teacher punished in Penza

Penza, 30 July 2014. PenzaNews. The verdict against the former teacher of Penza versatile gymnasium No.13 Vladislav Metlov, sentenced to 36 months of imprisonment in a penal colony, and deprived of the right to engage in teaching activities for a period of 8 years for an offense under Part 1, Art. 135 of the Criminal Code “Lecherous actions,” entered into force.

“Judicial board on criminal cases of Penza Regional Court dismissed the appeal of the convict concerning the sentence of Oktyabrsky district court of Penza. He did not dispute his guilt, classification of his actions and the period of imprisonment. The convict requested to appoint him to serve his sentence in prison colony instead of a penal colony,” the press secretary of Penza regional court Natalia Bychenkova told news agency “PenzaNews.”

Furthermore, she added that the convict agreed with the earlier decision of non-pecuniary damage in favor of the injured party, but the amount is not specified.

As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, Penza regional court received the criminal case with the confirmation of the indictment in mid-May. First information about the crime appeared in the media in February 2014, but official agencies refused to comment on it.

According to reports, the teaching experience of Vladislav Metlov is over 20 years. During this time he worked in various educational institutions as a teacher and organizer, history teacher, head teacher.

In February 2005, Vladislav Metlov headed versatile gymnasium No.13 after his predecessor, Yuri Golodyaev, who had held the post since 1987, became the head of the education department of Penza.

In December of the same year Vladislav Metlov was relieved of the director's post. He spent about a year working at the center of government communications in the Penza region.

Recently, Vladislav Metlov had worked in the gymnasium No.13 as teacher of history and social science. On February 20, 2014 he was suspended from his duties. The reason for this was his detention by the officers of the department of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Penza region.

Vladislav Metlov was repeatedly distinguished for his work. In 2003 he was awarded the title “Honored Worker of the general education of the Russian Federation.”

According to official information from the administration of versatile gymnasium No.13, Vladislav Metlov had no disciplinary penalties, complaints from the students, colleagues or parents.

According to relatives of the convicted person, Vladislav Metlov led a quiet life and has never been seen committing immoral acts: at school he engaged in local history work, and in his spare time did sports, often played volleyball by the gymnasium and fitness center “Atlant.”
