Zemetchino resident sentenced to compulsory labor for tree felling

Penza, 12 August 2014. PenzaNews. A resident of Zemetchinsky area, the Penza region was found guilty of an offense under paragraph D, Part 2, Art. 260 of the Criminal Code “Illegal felling of forest plantations.”

“It has been established that the law-breaker cut down 22 pine trees, totaling about 8 cubic meters, and caused over 63 thousand rubles in damage, which is considered large-scale damage,” Yuliya Makarova, Senior Assistant Attorney of the region, told news agency “PenzaNews.”

She noted that the sentence took into account certain factors of compensation for material damage and the disability of the man.

“In accordance with the position of the public prosecutor, the man was sentenced to 100 hours of compulsory work,” the agency interlocutor said.
