Kuznetsk, 18 August 2014. PenzaNews. Kuznetsky district court of the Penza region found a woman guilty of infecting her partner with HIV.

“At the hearing, it was found that the HIV-positive woman was advised in writing by a medical professional that she can be a source of infection for other people, with an explanation of the rules of hygiene in order to prevent the transmission of the infection to others, as well as a criminal liability warning. However, the defendant did not warn the victim and infected him with HIV,” the press service of the court told news agency “PenzaNews.”

The department explained that in view of remorse, the court gave the woman a 2-year suspended sentence with a probation period of 1.5 years, obliging her to register in the criminal executive inspection of Kuznetsk and re-register there regularly.
