As one of the witnesses told news agency “PenzaNews,” the foreign-made car failed to negotiate corner and crashed into a light post, which later caused the streetlight to fall off.
“After the crash, a group of young people got out of the BMW. There were three or four of them. Some went mad, darted around the car. No one was seriously hurt, because the airbags fired off. Only one of them, I believe, had a broken arm — he was sitting on the pavement. Then a cargo Gazelle stopped by and the driver asked if they needed an ambulance, the guys said no, and he left. Then a VAZ-2110 drove up. Two or three people got into it and left, and one guy stayed by the broken car. He was constantly talking on his cell phone. And when the police arrived, he pretended at first that he was just a passer-by and had nothing to do with the car,” the agency interlocutor said.
According to him, before leaving on the passing car, one of the young men pulled an unknown object, which looked like a bag, from the trunk of the car and threw it into the bushes.
Afterwards, the police found a black bag with a car vacuum cleaner a few meters from the BMW. However, it is still not clear why were the young people trying to get rid of it and what else was in the bag.
About an hour later, two men arrived at the scene, one of whom provided car documents to the traffic police.
Currently, the police are establishing who was driving the car at the time of the collision.
The vehicle needs expensive repairs: the front part of the car, including the windshield, suffered serious damage, while the roof was damaged by the lamp which fell on it some time after the collision.
