Penza, 2 October 2014. PenzaNews. Volunteers took part in extinguishing of five fires and two inflammations, which occurred in the Penza region over the past 24 hours.

“So, on Wednesday, October 1, the on-duty dispatcher 01 received a call about the fire in the wooden house in Maloserdobinsky area. The first to arrive at the fire scene were volunteers. Before the arrival of fire units they conducted reconnaissance and began to extinguish fire. Their prompt actions helped to avoid fire spreading to neighboring houses and outbuildings. The fire burned the attic and one room of 20 square meters,” Anna Shupilova, head of information and public relations division of the main department of EMERCOM in the region told news agency “PenzaNews.”

She noted that the assistance of volunteer fire brigades is difficult to overestimate.

“Since its creation, the response time to fire decreased, as well as the total number of fires and victims,” the agency interlocutor said.
