WWII veteran murdered in Kuznetsk

Kuznetsk, 6 October 2014. PenzaNews. A body of an 87-year old Second World War veteran with several wounds was found in his flat on Ordzhonikidze street in Kuznetsk town of Penza region.

The police have opened a criminal case under part 2, Art. 105 of the Criminal Code “Murder.”

“According to the preliminary investigation, the elderly man lived alone in his own house, and his neighbors visited him frequently and helped keep it tidy. The neighbors noticed he does not leave the house and does not open the door, became worried and alerted his relative. On October 5, the relative entered the flat through the window and found the veteran dead from head trauma,” Lyudmila Fomina, Senior Assistant of the Head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Penza, told news agency “PenzaNews.”

She added that the police have ordered to conduct several expert exhaminations.

“We are working though several stories behind the case, including a possible armed robbery. The regional Russian Investigative Committee division takes all the measures to find the culprits of this atrocious crime as soon as possible and establish the identities of the murderers of the veteran,” the agency interlocutor said.
