Penza, 16 October 2014. PenzaNews. An imam khatib of a mosque in Kuznetsky area of the Penza region was found guilty under the Art. 20.29 of the Administrative Offences Code of the Russian Federation “Production and dissemination of extremist materials.”

“During a mosque inspection ordered by the prosecutor’s office as part of the regulatory law inspection, the investigators found several materials that had been included in the federal list of extremism materials compiled by the Ministry of Justice. The books were found on a table in the office owned by the local Muslim religious organization of the mosque for everybody to see, which means they were kept there available for public,” the official representative of the Kuznetsk court told PenzaNews agency.

He added that the imam khatib was fined 2,000 rubles, and the extremism materials were confiscated.
