19-year-old Pachelma resident accused of attempted rape of 39-year-old woman
Penza, 6 November 2014. PenzaNews. Charges of attempted rape were brought against a 19-year-old young man in Pachelma village, the Penza region.
“According to investigators, on the roadway on Lenina Street, near the armored concrete production plant, the man attacked a 39-year-old woman on her way home on the night of October 26, 2014, threw her to the ground and tried to rape her,” Lyudmila Fomina, Senior Assistant of the Head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Penza, informed PenzaNews agency.
She explained that the woman tried to fight the rapist, managed to call her friends, who soon arrived at the scene.
“The young man managed to escape after noticing the approaching car, but was detained by the police shortly afterwards. He has been taken into custody, and the investigators are collecting the evidence,” the agency interlocutor added.
