Thief ate from victims’ fridge during robbery in Penza

Penza, 12 November 2014. PenzaNews. A 23-year old suspect of a robbery on Vyazemskovo street in Penza admitted to the police that he got a snack from the flat fridge before leaving the crime scene.

As the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs department told PenzaNews agency, the owner of the flat on the ground floor found something is wrong when he was unable to open the front door that was blocked from inside.

“After inspecting the flat from the outside, he found out one of the windows was smashed. The police immediately arrived to the scene, circled out the house and forced the door open. There was nobody inside, and a laptop was missing. The police questioned the inhabitants of other flats in the building and organized an interception plan, during which they established the identity of the culprit – a previously convicted 23-year old inhabitant of Kolyshley village. Later, he attempted to leave Penza by train, but was apprehended by the police at the station,” the administration representative clarified.

The stolen laptop was found in one of the pawn shops of the city.

“The suspect confessed to the crime. He said he decided on breaking into the flat when the owner was away, and ate some food from the fridge before leaving,” the press service spokesperson added.
