Andrei Zuev’s detention extended until December 4

Penza, 21 November 2014. PenzaNews. The detention Andrei Zuev, the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region of the fifth convocation from the Communist Party who was accused of organizing a gang, has been extended until December 4, 2014.

It is not currently known whether the detention has also been prolonged for two more accused, as well as for the three persons under house arrest.
The regional investigation department of the Investigative Committee reported that they are unable to comment during the preliminary investigation.
Earlier, Georgy Kamnev, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region, first secretary of the regional committee of the Communist Party, claimed that the indictment will most likely not list the crimes that have been reported before, and it may be due to the lack of compelling evidence, referring to the information available to the Communists.
As PenzaNews reported earlier, according to investigators, since the early 2000s, Andrei Zuev and five members of armed group committed a series of crimes against businessmen and residents of the Penza region.
Suspects were detained in ten locations at the same time in the morning on December 4, 2013.
Commenting on the criminal case against Andrei Zuev, Georgy Kamnev, first secretary of the regional committee of Russian Communist Party, member of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region, noted that it is politically biased.
