Nizhny Lomov citizen brought into custody for stealing puppy for meal
Penza, 15 December 2014. PenzaNews. A citizen of Nizhny Lomov of the Penza region was arrested under mugging charges.
As the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs told PenzaNews agency, an elderly woman approached the police and said the offender broke into her house in the evening, threatened her with a knife and stole a puppy.
“A crack team was immediately sent to the house. The pensioner showed them the direction where the offender ran and described his appearance. The police began the search and found the suspect approximately 1 kilometer away from the house running with a dog in hands. The man was brought into custody,” the press service said.
The officials mentioned that the thief was a previously convicted man aged 41.
“The puppy was returned to the owner. The offender confessed to the crime and explained he wanted to eat the animal. The police opened a criminal case against the man,” the press service said.
