Penza police investigate car sale fraud

Penza, 7 January 2015. PenzaNews. The police of the Penza region are investigating a report of a 26-year old citizen of Zarechny who claims to be a victim of a fraud.
“According to him, he found an Avito.ru ad that offered to obtain a Hyundai ix35 car manufactured in 2012 for 450 thousand rubles with delivery from the Moscow region. After calling the phone number listed in the advertisement, the man agreed to purchased a car, and made two transfers of 15,000 and 80,000 rubles to a designated bank account on the same day as an advance payment,” the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs told PenzaNews agency.
According to them, several hours later the victim was contacted again by the publisher of the advertisement with a request to make another transfer of 100 thousand rubles.
“The victim refused to do so, and reported the case to police,” said the officials.
The press service added that law authorities are currently establishing the identity of the alleged fraudster.
