Penza, 19 January 2015. PenzaNews. The Penza police have registered 16 attempts to cash in forged 5,000-ruble bank notes during the first half of January 2015.

“Usually the forgers cause the most damage to individual entrepreneurs and store cashiers. We recommend them to always use special detectors. If they don't have any, they should obtain one or redirect the customer to a nearby equipped location. And individual examination is a must even if a store is equipped,” said Sergei Postnikov, head of Economy Security and Counter-Forgery department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Penza city.

Moreover, he recommended equipping each and every store and outlet with CCTV systems and a large-capacity memory drive.

“The CCTV cameras must point at the customers. CCTV systems are useful not only against forgers, but also identity thieves and burglars. Another way to protect your store is to record passport information of customers who pay for goods with 5,000-ruble bills,” Sergei Postnikov noted.
