Penza resident lost money selling Shar Pei puppy over Internet

Penza, 26 January 2015. PenzaNews. A 22-year-old resident of Penza lost money when trying to sell a Shar-Pei puppy over the Internet.

“The young woman received a phone call from an unknown man who said he wanted to buy a puppy, and offered to pay using the ‘Mobile Banking’ service. Following the instructions of the stranger, the victim performed several ATM operations, and then discovered that 5,000 rubles were withdrawn from her bank account,” the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs told PenzaNews agency.

The department noted that, according to the dog owner, she was informed of such fraud methods, but still failed to recognize it.

“The incident is currently being investigated. Police officers are taking measures to identify those involved in the crime,” the ministry said.
