Penza, 8 February 2015. PenzaNews. The police are investigating the case of a Bashmakovo area citizen of the Penza region, 21, who tried to buy a foreign car online.

“While visiting Avito.ru website, she found an ad offering a Hyundai for 250,000 rubles. She called the phone number, and the unknown person on the other end of the phone asked her to provide an advance transaction. Following his instructions, the lady sent over 110,000 rubles to a bank account,” the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs informed PenzaNews agency.

According to officials, the woman has not received the bought car.

“The young lady said she knew of such fraud schemes and learned about them from mass media,” the press service said.

The police are currently establishing the identities of people involved in the crime, the department added.
