Penza, 10 February 2015. PenzaNews. A man, 30, ended up as a victim of a money fraud trying to find a job at the Penza city administration as a driver.

“According to the citizen, he found a vacancy ad in the administration on Avito.ru website. After calling the provided phone number, the man agreed for an interview meeting with an unidentified person. On the way there, he was contacted by the person once again and asked to transfer 1,500 rubles to the anonym’s phone number, promising to return them after the meeting. The man followed the instructions and transferred the money,” the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs informed PenzaNews agency.

According to officials, the city administration had no information on the alleged job interview: the whole scheme was a hoax aimed at luring money from a clueless citizen.

“The crime is currently being investigated. The police are establishing the identities of the culprits,” the press service said.
