Islam radical movement follower convicted of preparing terrorist attack near Penza

Penza, 20 February 2015. PenzaNews. Islam radical movement follower, arrested during the raid in Sursk, the Penza region, was sentenced to imprisonment, said police colonel Yuri Ruzlyaev, head of the Penza region department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, during a report on the ministry performance in 2014 to the deputies of the Penza region Legislative Assembly on Friday, February 20.

“In June, an act of terror on the Day of Russia was successfully prevented during a special op in the town of Sursk. A follower of radical Islam sect was arrested on suspicion of making an explosive device and preparing the attack,” he said.
The criminal case was sent to court in late December, Yuri Ruzlyaev added.
“And in early January, the court found him guilty and sentenced him to prison,” noted the head of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs; however did not specify the term of imprisonment.
