Tutor at Penza regional technical college fined 100,000 rubles for bribery

Penza, 11 March 2015. PenzaNews. A tutor of the Kamensky College of Industrial Technologies and Business located in the Penza region was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 3, Art. 290 of the Criminal Code, titled “Bribery.”
“We have established that the teacher received a bribe of 2,500 rubles from a student in exchange for a passing mark in a test for ‘Occupational Safety and Health’ subject in December 2014,” Lyudmila Fomina, Senior Assistant of the Head of the Investigative Department of the city Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, told PenzaNews agency.
According to her, the teacher also entered false information about the mid-semester certification and the mark in the student’s record book.
“The court sentenced the woman to a fine of 100,000 rubles, which equals 40 times the amount of bribe,” the speaker explained.
