Penza, 17 March 2015. PenzaNews. A teenager, 14-16, whose identity is currently being established, died under a freight train at the 705th km of the third section on the running line “Penza-1–Arbekovo” on Tuesday, March 17.

“According to the testimony of the locomotive engineer, the teenager did not respond to train whistles. He used emergency brakes, but could not avoid the tragedy. The investigators found a player and headphones on the body of the deceased person,” the press service of the Volga Transportation Investigative Department of the city Investigative Committee informed PenzaNews agency.

The circumstances of the incident are currently under investigation, the department elaborated.

“We have inspected the scene, questioned the witnesses, and ordered a number of court tests. The investigation will determine the role actions of the train engineer in the tragedy,” the department noted.
